Hey,
I have to admit, it is not easy raising children and being responsible for teaching them, growing them up, making them responsible people accountable for their behaviors and mistakes. Sarah is teaching me a virtue I lost long ago, PATIENCE!! As I said before, Sarah is spirited and her attention span is very very short so she demands more and more activities and she gets bored very quickly but we manage. We began the day, after brushing teeth, washing face, praying, ...etc, by singing "Twinkle Twinkle little Star" and then I played a youtube video about Hygiene, washing hands, germs and sneezing and coughing. This is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCBoDZrTncg&feature=relmfu
Of course, we practised this a lot throughout the day;) Then, we played with finger paints. I got an idea from "Counting Coconuts" blog to add some features to these paintings to make them funny. Here are pictures:
then, we moved to our sensory tub, Sarah added an extra mission which is counting:) but then got very bored and wanted to fill and dump:)
After that, we played with ladybugs. it is a math lesson where Sarah sees the number and add the lady bug spots according to this number. Again taken from "Counting Coconuts)
She glued the holes punched ( I saved them for that purpose:)
Then, it was music time. it wasn't really music but I made Sarah listen to animal sounds and tell me which animal is it. Here is a link: http://www.ilovewavs.com/Effects/Animals/Animals.htm
We are also working on weather teaching and Sarah is so excited to look each day out of the window and check whether it is rainy or sunny, cloudy or snowy (the ones we covered so far). Also, i collected some medicine caps, showed them to her, marked them on a piece of paper and hid them in different obvious places and asked her to find them. She did it the first time and found 8 out of 9 but got very frustrated the second round and refused to do it anymore.
After bath time, chatting with hubby, it was almost bedtime so we had to unwind so I let her play with puzzles.
About feeding the ants activity yesterday (for you Liz;), we brought glasses, cut out paper ants, cut out printed numbers and used gems. We put a number in each glass and fill the glass with ants equivalent to that number but these ants are hungry so we feed them gems equal to their numbers. Sarah loved the sound of gems hitting the glass and the idea that she is feeding the. Again, this is not my idea:)
I had to add, I am still looking for time (through the different naptimes) to go to the library to borrow more books.
Thanks for reading.
Love,
Sherine

Sherine I can't believe you are doing all of these activities with her, she's going to be the smartest little girl! Smarter than now if it is possible! Can she do that first animal puzzle in the picture all by herself? That is amazing! It looks like you guys are having so much fun! <3 I might have to go buy some finger paints and the lady bug activity is just genius! You are so motivated and determined! <3
