Wild Forest!

Hi,
We have been out and about for the past few days so we haven't done anything BUT I preapred a sensory tub and I love this one. I bought the animals from the dollar store, colored rice with green, used some leaves we had from before (to give the forest environment sense) and added a few things;) Here we go:

I made this cards and printed them. Each card has characteristics and food, I added pictures. I used a distinguishing characteristic that can be very clear to Sarah to be able to know which animal this card refers to.

I folded them and put them on the base of the tub.

I covered them with the green rice.

I added 2 trees, plant leaves, some grass and a fake strawberry.

Add the animals.

Some animals eat seeds, others eat meat so I added some seeds and meat.

Cooked meat in case Sarah tried tasting it!

The idea is that Sarah sees the animals and then the information cards, recognizes which card refers to which animal and hangs it on the animal's neck. Using the card, we will get to know some information about the animal and we will also know the animals favorite food. I will ask her to feed each animal, those who eat fruit can eat the strawberry, those who eat meat will eat get it and those who eat seeds will aslo get it;) Of course, she can scoop and dump as she wishes but I will use a bed sheet this time (not just a towel) to limit the mess:)

Here's a picture taken on Black Friday night.

On Black Friday, we bought 2 Science kits, an "I Spy Eagle Eye" game and a bowling set from Toys R Us. I am already so in love with the Science kits. Don't forget, Sunday is our Mad Science Day and we're almost there;) The 2 kits were half price (50%off).
I hope you liked it. See you tomorrow.
Love,
Sherine
