Fire Safety (part 2)

Hi,
Today, we continued with our fire safety theme. I didn't really do much about this one, I found the pack on this fabulous site. I didn't have time to laminate them but instead, we did a mini-book. Here:

Coloring!

In this puzzle, I took off only 4 pieces.
It's just a start!

Shadow matching!

Word cards!

Voila :)

Do you remember the geoboard I started doing some time ago. I didn't use pins, I used push pins, way safer and mission finally completed.

Sarah still doesn't know it is for her :)

And this is the plant we planted a few weeks ago, this picture was taken a week ago and now it is much bigger. Strangely, only one has grown!!!

Thank you for joining us. Come back soon.
Love,

Fire Magic!

Hi,
Today was a combo of Mad Science Sunday (yes, I am mentally stable & realize it is not Sunday ;) and a sensory tub. It was all about FIRE. We started by watching a video on youtube about fire fighters and how they put away the fire. Then, Sarah got dressed in her costume (she got it on her birthday). Here:

Then, we went into the kitchen to do our science experiments. Yes, Sarah was scared to touch the fire, I told you before she is very cautious by nature so basically I'm the one who did everything while she was watching except putting away the fire with water, she did this one. By the way, I loved the snipping tool that enables me to take whatever image shot I want from a video, now I can actually focus on whatever shot I want, I just pause and cut and it captures whatever crazy position it is like these for instance:

Spraying a lighted candle with a deodorant spray.
She tried doing it but it was difficult for her.

Now, to our experiments. You need:
  • 3 candles (one very small)
  • Water
  • Glass cover
  • play dough to hold the candles.

Yes, fire needs air to keep burning.

heat and fuel.

In this one, we just added salt to the fire to watch the changes of color :)

Then, I showed Sarah some safety basics like to:

Stop!

Drop!

and roll!

or call 911 ;)

Finally, both girls played with the fire-themed sensory tub. It contained:
  • red rice & sand
  • a fire truck with a ladder
  • an ambulance
  • a fire helicopter
  • firemen
  • letters "F"
  • an axe
  • fire extinguisher
  • safety cones

We'll continue on that them (fire safety) one more day.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed.
Love,
