One More Random!

Hi,
I gave up, I'll never write on regular basis so, bear with me, please!
These are some random pictures from our past few days. There was no purpose in my mind in doing/introducing them whatsoever except seeing my kids play and laugh and they laughed a lot and it made me happy. There has been a lot of changes here lately, Farida is growing up fast and now, she can protest throwing lovely forgotten tantrums. Sarah and I fight no more, lol, we discuss and talk and nowadays, I tend to put myself in her shoes! What does it feel like to be small, helpless and with no choice? Not good at all so yes, it made a difference. "Mommy, I don't want to sleep. I want to play a little more." In the past, I would have responded saying that it is bedtime and put her in bed but come on, do we sleep on demand like this? NO! Then, why would I expect her to do so?

Anyway, Here was the first invitation:
play-dough, googly eyes, shells, stones, pom poms, cutters and colorful sticks. Needless to say that this play-dough was once a cake with candles to blow off, then a monster and then pizza to serve and eat!

On another day, we played with water beads AGAIN! The second and third pictures are exactly what we saw when we stuck our faces in the beads to take a closer look. Playing with the light can be so much fun :)

A day on the beach, as you can see, Sarah was testing the surroundings and checking whether she can do it or not :) Cautious as usual! A great sensory activity for both kids, playing with and throwing sand!

So again, I admit, I am selfish and I let my kids play to see them laugh because it makes me happy :p This was today and it was hilarious, every time, Sarah sets up something, Farida comes and knocks it downs laughing hysterically which in turn makes Sarah laugh as well. We broke 10 of these plastic glasses :)

I love kids' imagination, it is hilarious! Today we were telling Sarah "Snow White"  bedtime story with some modifications and all she was concerned about was where Snow White's mother was so we had to tell her she was preparing food. After some events, she said, "I bet her mother is doing the dishes right now!", LOL!
Thank you and please come and visit soon,

I Can Spell My Name!

Hi,
Missed us? I hope so. We played a little with light, we tried to put everything on our light box and see what looks best. Sarah knows how to spell her name but I don't think she'll recognize it if she sees it so we worked on that. Here:

We did some role playing too. Sarah was a boy. She found this hilarious. She put the mustache on all of us and kept saying, "No, I'm not a boy, I'm a GIRL."

Some coloring too, she's getting better and better but she gets bored faster and faster nowadays.

Some hand painting, she got to choose what she wants me to paint. We did some on Farida too :)

Thank you for reading, come back soon.

Colorful!

Hi,
The theme this week, I never had a theme before if you have noticed, is RAINBOW ! Can these even be a theme? I guess yes, I have already a lot of ideas covering this theme. Sarah already knows the colors but this combination is new for her. I prepared this tub yesterday. I bought nothing this time, I had everything on hand. Here:

Overwhelming!

My old necklaces and accessories (many beads ;) ).

Orange hair strands from our dress up hair,
Pom poms, marbles, colored rice and beads.

I don't have blue food coloring so I couldn't add rice here,
I used blue gems instead!
I love the colors!

Her large beads and eggs!

Pegs, hair bands, fuzzy stems (I shaped them into a butterfly and an arc),
balloons and beads.

Dough cutters.

Can you see her foot warmer?

MY BEADS :)

Then right into the real beads.
Mommy, didn't you know I have to do them?!

Blowing the balloon!
Weird enough, she didn't notice the hair!!!

Scooping and pouring!

Now, I have  a question for the sensory bin experts? How do you introduce your bin for a second and third time? Do your kids remain interested in it? I really need to know. I guess I'm scared of introducing it and getting disappointed if Sarah didn't enjoy the repetition!
After that, we HAD TO play with our light table. GEMS! I love them! Now, seriously, Farida loves our light table the most. Don't try to mess with her and take her away from it when it is on. She will throw a fit which is totally unlike her so you know she is serious.

She was falling here but was so attached to the bin,
I told you: she won't let it go!

I missed hands on crafts. We'll be doing more in the next few days but thank you Allison  for reminding us of this one :)

Marbles!

Here, I realized I needed to stop being cheap and add more color.
It didn't really matter afterwards, she was happy with it anyway ;)

She told me to hand it in there.

I think everything around us is a learning opportunity. Today, we went to the library. Sarah chose some books to read. They were really advanced BUT it is still a learning opportunity. Forget about reading, let's look at these pictures and say what we can see. Can you count them, baby? Good job, now tell me, what color is this ...? Endless ways to learn. we moved around the library looking at every craft or picture hanging on the wall, mentioning the letters if we saw any. Learning doesn't have to be structured or in a room, it is all around us.
Thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed!
